Transportation in Phnom Penh
Getting from Point A to Point B in Phnom Penh was not as easy as it was 10 or 15 years ago especially during peak hour. Phnom Penh's population reaches almost 2 million, and there are another million people traveling in and out of the city everyday, making the journey a struggle. There are some kinds of transportation which Phnom Penhers use in order to travel.
1-Private Car
Ranging from small size sedans to large size SUVs, cars are known as the most prestigious and reliable transportation for the local.
2-Private Motorcycle
Private motorcycles are very popular among the middle-class families. They are a lot cheaper than cars, yet fast, economical, and can get through any traffic and parking easily.

7-Cyclo
Man-powered tricycles, usually called as 'Cyclo' by the local, have become endangered due to the rapid increase in numbers of motorized vehicles. Cyclos were very popular in 1960s, and there was a song about it also.
8-City Bus
City bus was introduced in 2002 by Phnom Penh City Hall, yet the service failed back then. It was not until 2014 was it reintroduced with the help from JICA. Currently, there are only 3 routes running on some major streets; however, the service is expected to expand across the city some years later.
